We hope that you are either a creative individual or group looking to set up a Pop-up project, or a landlord or local small business investigating the benefits of this initiative.
Our mission is to forge strong relationships between creatives and property owners so that we can enrich local culture. North Sydney Council has generously supported the pilot project ‘North Sydney Pop-Up’. A small inaugural program, giving 8 artists access to two empty spaces on the corner of Burlington and Alexander street, Crows Nest.
It is still very early days for this project. We will shortly announce dates for presenting our learnings and we hope to engage more landlords as well as secure funds for a pop-up broker.
We’ve been laying the ground work by researching the successes of others; namely Marcus Westbury and Marni Jackson from Renew Newcastle and Cathy Levins and Anique Vered from The Rocks Pop-up Project. We’ve also been very kindly supported by Lisa Andersen from the UTS Shopfront Empty Spaces project.
